1Data we collect
We collect no personal data on our own servers — we operate none. Everything below stays on your device unless you explicitly use a network feature:
- On-device only: your music library metadata (read from MediaStore), app preferences, equalizer/sleep-timer settings, favorites and playlists (DataStore/SharedPreferences). This never leaves your device. Same privacy protections apply whether running on Mobile or Android TV.
- Feedback emails (optional): if you tap Feedback, your email app sends a message to
amuzicg@gmail.com. Only what you write is sent.
2Permissions we request and why
- Audio/media access (
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO/READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGEon older Android): to list and play audio files stored on your device. - Microphone (optional,
RECORD_AUDIO): used for the on-device live visualizer animation (spectrum / beat pulse) or Android TV voice search. No audio is recorded, stored or transmitted — deny it and everything else still works. - Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show playback controls while music/radio plays. - Foreground service / boot (
FOREGROUND_SERVICE*,RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED,WAKE_LOCK): to keep playback running in the background. - Internet / network state (
INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): for radio streaming, station lists and album art (see §3). - Ringtone settings (
WRITE_SETTINGS): only if you choose “Set as ringtone”.
3Third-party network services
Used only when you use those features:
- Internet radio directory (radio-browser.info): when browsing/searching radio, the app sends the search text / country / language / tag you entered to
de1.api.radio-browser.infoto fetch public station lists. No account or device ID is sent by us. - Radio streams: when you press play on a station, your device connects directly to that broadcaster’s streaming server to receive audio. That server may see your IP address (as with any internet streaming).
- Album art (Last.fm): when showing artwork, the app may send artist/album/title text to
ws.audioscrobbler.comto look up cover art. - Chromecast (Google Cast, mobile/tablet): if you tap the Cast button, Google Play services discovers Cast devices on your local network and streams the selected radio station to the device you choose. Governed by Google’s own privacy policy; we receive no data from it.
- In-app updates (Google Play): the app asks the Play Store whether a newer version exists so it can offer an in-app update. Only the app’s own package/version info is exchanged with Google Play.
- Images (Coil): station/album artwork is downloaded and cached on-device.
We use no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no ad SDK in this app.
4Installed-app check (social audio, optional)
If you enable “Include social app audio”, the app checks on-device which of a small hard-coded list of messaging/social apps (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Signal) is installed, only to label their downloaded audio. This list never leaves your device.
5Data retention & deletion
Since we run no servers or accounts, there is nothing to delete server-side. Uninstalling the app deletes on-device preferences and caches (Android may keep a backup only if you enabled system backup — the app sets allowBackup=false). Emails you sent us are deleted on request.
6Children
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect children’s data, since it collects none.
7Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
